According to the Talmud (Sotah 11b) that in the merit of righteous women of that generation the Children of Israel were redeemed from Egypt. This image depicts the part of the Torah where Miriam, the prophetess, takes her drum in her hand, and all the women went after her with drums and with dances. It was the time of the splitting of the sea when everyone Praised Hashem in song for the miracles. Such beauty was the women's Shira (Songs to Hashem), so described by the Torah in the mascline tense, that Hashem silenced the angels whose duty it is to sing Shira, so that the Children of Israel could have the merit of singing Praises to Him at this momentous time. The greatest of faith is demonstrated by that generation since the Israelites sang these praises to the G-d of Israel while still in the seabed.
