The tomb of our Matriarch
Rachel... is significant to those of ailing health or those of
misfortunate circumstances. It is a place where men and women go to
receive blessing... a place where "Mother" Rachel intercedes with G-d on
our behalf to bestow children to the childless, peace, good health and emotional resolve.
The name Rachel is significant to the power of prayer as it is derived from the Hebrew "rachil" or lamb. Not only is the lamb humble in front of its master, but it possesses an almost human-like impassioned shriek or wail when molested, an ability to arouse the very soul of those nearby. So too, does our matriarch Rachel, beseech passionately for HaShem to change a person's misfortune into blessing.
