The purple Bearded Iris, cross-culture, symbolizes wisdom and kingship, and so it decorates the centers of the Ches and Yud. According to the Kabbalah or Jewish Mysticism, the Ches and the Yud in the word Chai can be interchanged to produce one of the Divine Names Yah, which is the Name Hashem used to create the universe. The Midrash states, further, that the Power of the Divine Names keep the particles of the universe suspended in a life force, Chai (the letters changed back again as Ches and Yud). Consequently, the Divine Names' Power heals the sick. According to Jewish Mystics, this Power to heal the sick can be deduced as a formula from each of the Divine Names found in various Torah Parashyos.
